Shoal Bay, Australia

We started our morning by visiting the Sydney Opera House.  We had a special tour, going back into the prop rooms and behind the scenes.  It is such a gorgeous place...so unique...so beautiful.  We visited a few of the rooms...the 2nd largest hall, where they mostly hold symphonies, was just spectacular...so beautiful!  The organ has 10,000 pipes!  All the seats are made of a material that absorbs sound so the acoustics are perfect!

This is looking up at the covering of the roof of the opera house...made to reflect the harbor!

After our tour, we started on a 3 hour journey to Shoal Bay Resort.  It is beautiful...a resort... on the bay...We drove out to the dunes, then hopped in 4 WD vehicles that took us down the  beach and arrived at a place where the dunes were tall!  The students trekked up the dunes to slide down.  I got a LOT of great photos!  I'm just going to wait and post photos once I get home.  These dunes are the largest moving sand dunes in the southern hemisphere!  We also visited Tin City.  Tin City is...made out of tin!  There are shacks...made out of tin...in a state park....  A few people live there permanently.  Once a "house" (shack) falls down, that's it.  You can't rebuild.  The guides told us that you could repair...but not rebuild.  The shacks can't be sold or rented...just passed down through families.  Wait till you see the photos...you'll probably wonder WHY anyone would want them!   We had a magnificent buffet for dinner... lots of seafood, along with a wide selection of other foods...  It normally cost 49.50 a person!
